چکیده

We investigate the possibility of using accelarator beam particles to collide with the ambient neutralino dark matter particles in cosmic rays as a way to search for the cold dark matter. We study in detail its inelastic and elastic scattering with the projectile particles at electron-positron colliders and discuss the possible experimental signals and the relevent background. There is strong evidence for the existence of a large amount of cold dark matter (CDM) in the universe. The leading candidate of the cold dark matter particles in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with R parity is neutralino [1, 2]. The possibility of sneutrino being a candidate of CDM is ruled out unless it as heavy as 17 TeV which is unfavorable in all resonable theories[4, 5]. In the traditional method of directly searching for such CDM SUSY particles, the velocity of the SUSY CDM particles is very small [3], their kinetic energy is not sufficient to cause any inelastic scattering, so that a clear observation would be difficult due to existence of a flood of background trajectories. In this paper we propose a new detection mechanism of neutralino cold dark matter by using the accelarator beam particles to collide

Indirect Dark Matter Search with Antideuterons: Progress and Future Prospects for General Antiparticle Spectrometer (GAPS)

We report on recent accelerator testing of a prototype general antiparticle spectrometer (GAPS). GAPS is a novel approach for indirect dark matter searches that exploits the antideuterons produced in neutralino-neutralino annihilations. Many supersymmetry models, as well as other models based on extra dimensions, predict a primary antideuteron flux from dark matter annihilation that is much gre...

About direct Dark Matter detection in Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

Direct dark matter detection is considered in the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). The effective neutralino-quark Lagrangian is obtained and event rates are calculated for the Ge isotope. Accelerator and cosmological constraints on the NMSSM parameter space are included. By means of scanning the parameter space at the Fermi scale we show that the lightest neutralino could ...

Supersymmetry at the Linear Collider

If supersymmetry (SUSY) is realized at the electroweak scale, its underlying structure and breaking mechanism may be explored with great precision by a future linear ee collider (LC) with a clean environment, tunable collision energy, high luminosity polarized beams, and additional e−e−, eγ and γγ modes. In this report we summarize four papers submitted to the ICHEP04 conference about the preci...

NMSSM neutralino dark matter

We study the viability of the lightest neutralino as a dark matter candidate in the Nextto-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Taking into account accelerator constraints as well as bounds on low-energy observables, and imposing consistency with present bounds on the neutralino relic density, we address the prospects for the direct detection of neutralino dark matter. We find regions of the ...

Accurate Neutralino Relic Density

We enlarge our set of supersymmetric models and update accelerator constraints in our precise calculation of the relic density of the lightest neutralino, which includes relativistic Boltzmann averaging, subthreshold and resonant annihilations, and coannihilation processes among charginos and neutralinos.
